John Clendenin
John is President of Athletic Motivation Institute where he is
responsible for the coordination and management of the companys
activities in professional and amateur sports operations, Sports
Psychology consulting, Motivational Speaking, Workshops and Business
Effectiveness. He is currently researching leadership issues in
professional and enhanced level amateur sports.
John
is well known in the business community. He has addressed thousands
of people while public-speaking, delivering conference keynotes,
and developing workshops for business professionals and the government.
He has presented at many universities including Columbia, Harvard,
Princeton, and Stanford in the areas of Quality, Benchmarking,
Manufacturing competitiveness, Supply Chain Optimization and Business
Process Management. He was selected for the 1995 and 1998 editions
of Who's Who in the World and the 1998 edition of Who's Who in
Science and Engineering. He is Chief Executive Officer of ICLogistics,
an Internet start-up.
John's
background includes 15 years as an executive at Xerox Corporation,
and a career in the United States Marine Corps where he was a
Field Grade Officer in Telecommunications Management. He joined
the Reserves after 12 years on active duty. Activated during Operation
Desert Storm, he was responsible for casualty and family assistance
in the 1st Marine Corps District. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel
in February 1995 after 24 years of service.
His
avocation as a sports psychologist began after several years of
competition in national and international athletics. Athletic
Motivation Institute, AMI was founded in 1979. Since then he has
worked with Olympic teams, individual athletes, educators and
business professionals in the area of performance management,
motivation and goal setting. In New York, John contracted with
the City of Rochester to operate the 3 on 3 Jumpin' Jack Basketball
Tournaments. He has managed teams in the United States basketball
League ( USBL ) as owner / President of the Treasure Coast Tropics.
He is on the faculty of the Sports University and taught the Business
of Sports while a senior faculty member of the Harvard Business
School.
John
has graduate degrees in Psychology, Communications Engineering
and Business Administration. Active in the community, John is
on the board of the Harvard Business School Club of Rochester
and City Fresh Foods in Boston, as well as the past chairman and
member of the 7th Judicial District Advisory Panel. He has been
a member of the Training and Technology Roundtable for the U.S.
Department of Commerce and the Quality Workforce Task Force for
the U.S. Department of Labor. He served as the Commissioner for
Quality on the County C.A.S.E. Commission. John was a candidate
for the U.S. Congress in 1994. He lives in Remsen, New York with
his wife Bonnie. They have three grown children, Trevor, Stacy
and Ryan. |
